Ferolite manufactures several gasket products for marine equipment – including Ferolite Sheets that are produced by using aramid fiber, mineral fiber, cellulose fiber, organic fiber and NBR. In this article, we will explore the various uses of the Ferolite Non-Asbestos Jointing Sheets that are offered by Roma Enterprises.
Ferolite NAM 30Y
Ferolite NAM 30Y is made from aramid fiber, mineral fiber and NBR. Generally used in oil resistant gasket material for medium to higher loading, it has a good resistance to water, gases, oils & fuels. It is a standard sealing material that is used in compressors, pipelines, transmission, gas meters and internal combustion engines.
Operating Condition
Max. Peak Temp: 400°C
Max. Continuous Temp: 250°C
Max. Continuous Temp with steam: 220°C
Max. Operating Pressure: 100 Kg/cm2
Ferolite NAM 39
Ferolite NAM 39 is made from cellulose fiber, mineral fiber, organic fiber and NBR. Frequently used for low operating pressure, e.g. transformers, compressors, it is water / oil gasket material for light to medium loading that is used on easily deformable components with low surface pressure like valve covers and pans in internal combustion engines.
Operating Condition
Max. Peak Temp: 250°C
Max. Continuous Temp: 180°C
Max. Continuous Temp with steam: 120°C
Max. Operating Pressure: 50 Kg/cm2
Ferolite 333
Ferolite 333 is a Compressed Asbestos Fiber (CAF) made from chrysotile asbestos fiber with synthetic & natural elastomers and inorganic fillers. Generally used to seal off steam, air, water and other alkaline chemicals under low stress conditions, Ferolite 33 has a thickness of 0.40 mm to 6.00 mm with a surface finish of red and grey graphite.
Operating Condition
Maximum pressure: 35 Kg/cm2
Maximum Temperature: 380oC
Ferolite Steel
Ferolite 333 is a Compressed Asbestos Fiber (CAF) made from chrysotile asbestos fiber with synthetic & natural elastomers with a corrosion resistant metal gauge center. Similar to Ferolite 333, it is used for low and medium stress conditions and is suitable for sealing off steam, air, water and other various alkaline chemicals. It has a thickness of 0.08mm to 6.00 mm with a surface finish of grey graphite.
Operating Condition
